VEHICLE & VESSEL TITLE TRANSFERS

When you come in to transfer a title you will be REQUIRED to have the following:

  1. Your current Washington State Driver's License.
(All owners who wish to be registered owners on the new title MUST be present and have a current Washington State Driver's License or a qualified exemption to use any other state recognized I.D.)
  2. The Vehicle's Current Title * with all registered and legal owner's signatures releasing their interest on the appropriate lines and the Odometer Disclosure on the title completed if the vehicle is 10 years old or newer.
*Some banks and lienholders use an Electronic or Paperless Title form instead of a Title. In this case, the registered owners signature(s)  need to be notarized on a Release of Interest form. An Odometer Disclosure/Release of Interest  form will also work for this.
*If the Title is lost, an "Affidavit of Loss of Title and Release of Interest" will work, (this requires notarized  signatures  in 2 seperate places) or an "Affidavit in Lieu of Title" from our office. We  notarize the registered owners signature in our office, for the Seller to give to the Buyer. (Current  Washington titled vehicles/vessels only and only  in the State of Washington.)
  3.  The Odometer Disclosure information completed by both buyer and seller, if the vehicle is 10 years old or newer. The Odometer reading is required to be written in on the appropriate line and the seller section is required to be signed and filled out by the registered owner/Seller.
  4. The Sale Price written on the Title and/or on an accompanying Bill of Sale or Bill of Gift, signed by the seller.
  5. An Emissions Inspection Certificate if the vehicle will be registered in an area that emissions is required. * For emissions information call 800-453-4951 or  http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/air/cars/automotive_pages.htm
  6. Cash or Personal Check  /  ATM Machine available in lobby
(Important: We can only accept a preprinted check drawn from the account of the registered owner. For cash there is an ATM MACHINE in our lobby for your convenience. )

IMPORTANT: There is a PENALTY if you do not transfer your Washington State vehicle's title within 15 calendar days from the date of purchase (regardless of whether the vehicle is running.)
